Safety Tips While Using a Lifting Platform




● Inspect for broken or loose parts. Before use, check for any damage or loose parts. If you notice any problems, don’t use the lifting platform and contact a qualified technician for repairs.
● Do not overload. Overloading the lifting platform can cause it to tip over or break, leading to serious injuries.
● Do not hang items over the lifting platform. This will create an unbalanced load and cause the lifting platform to tip over.
● Center loads. Ensure proper load placement by centering the load on the lifting platform.
● Avoid pinch points. Keep fingers and hands away from pinch points, especially on scissor lifting platforms. Raise or lower the platform slowly to avoid sudden movements.
● Check equipment capacity. Make sure to use the correct lifting equipment for a given environment. The lifting platform should have a strong surface and grip or traction. Also check that the lifting platform has sufficient load-bearing capacity for your desired application.
● Use personal protective equipment (PPE). Trained operators should supervise lifting and lowering operations. They should also wear appropriate PPE for added safety.
● Ensure proper balance. Wheel size and the lifting platformtop need to be measured for correct balance.
● Lock casters in place. lifting platforms have four swivel casters with locks so they can be locked in place when transferring product on and off and can be easily turned depending on direction.
● Make sure the lifting platform surface is flush with the work area. The leg base is slightly smaller than the top surface so that the lifting platform can be flush with the work area without gaps when transferring products on or off. This enhances the safety of the operation by reducing the chances of products falling between gaps.

Step 2 – Receive Your Quote
Once we’ve got a good understanding of what you need from us then we can start working up a quote for you, setting out what the cost will be, when we can deliver and what the timescales involved are. Once we have the information we need we will come back to you with a quote as soon as possible so that we can begin the process of installing your lifting platform.
Step 3 – Amend & Accept Quote
We always give customers the opportunity to ask questions about the quote and make any changes to the specification as needed. It’s important that you’re 100% comfortable with the process, the costs and the options before we go ahead.


Step 4 – Confirm and Accept Drawings
We always provide drawings specific to the job in hand, and can complete site specific drawings and work with your site drawing files to get every detail perfect. We ensure all essential information, such as dimensions and loadings, are included. We send over the drawings and wait for a confirmation or for any amends to be sent over in your own time. Once you are happy with the drawings, you confirm and accept and we put the order through to the factory.
Step 5 – Pre-Installation Site Check
One final check takes place to make sure that there will be no delays come installation day, and to ensure the lift can be delivered, installed and handed over in one continuous visit. There are a few client provisions which need to be completed prior to installation (for example, making the hole through the floors) and we come along to check this is in place so you get the installation date you are expecting.
Step 6 -Installing the Lift
Finally, the lift is installed – usually this will take around 30-45 days.
